The New York State of Health is an organized marketplace designed to help New Yorkers shop for and enroll in health insurance coverage. Individuals, families and small businesses can use the Marketplace to help them:

• Calculate Costs
• Compare Insurance Options
• Select Coverage Online, in-Person, Over the Phone or by Mail.

The Marketplace helps people to check their eligibility for health care programs and sign up for these programs if they are eligible. The Marketplace also tells what type of financial assistance is available to applicants to help them afford health insurance purchased through the Marketplace. 

While the open enrollment period for Qualified Health Plans has ended, individuals who experience a Qualifying Life Event may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period. New York State of Health has developed a set of resources to educate potential enrollees about this Special Enrollment Period. Individuals eligible for the new Essential Plan, Medicaid or Child Health Plus can enroll year-round.
