Cortland County Redistricting

Local Law 2 of 1972 - A Local Law Reapportioning the County of Cortland provides the process by which the Cortland County Legislature must reapportion or redistrict the Cortland County legislative districts.  Pursuant to that Local Law, the Cortland County Legislature has appointed the following legislators to the Cortland County Redistricting Commission:

  • Kelly Preston, Co-Chair
  • Cathy Bischoff, Co-Chair
  • Kevin Fitch
  • George Wagner
  • Beau Harbin

Although the Local Law for Cortland County Reapportionment does not mandate an outlet for citizen involvement, the Cortland County Legislature believes that community involvement is necessary in the redistricting process.  For that reason, the legislature approved the creation of a Redistricting Commission Citizen’s Advisory Committee.  The members of the advisory committee are as follows:

  • City of Cortland Mayor, Scott Steve
  • Village of Homer Mayor, Hal McCabe
  • Cortland County Resident, Amy Bertini
  • Cortland County Resident, Jeff Guido
  • Cortland County Resident, Eric Mulvihill
  • Cortland County Resident, Forrest Earl
  • Cortland County Resident, William McGovern

Local Law - SUBJECT TO MANDATORY REFERENDUM ON NOVEMBER 7, 2023 BALLOT
