The Civil Division of Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the enforcement of all civil process in the county. This division handles matters received from Cortland County Courts, from attorneys and many Cortland County residents.
The Civil Division is responsible for numerous services and enforcement of these services, including but not limited to summonses, income and property executions, evictions, and subpoenas. Also included are family court papers and orders of protection.

Fees effective on April 12, 2005 for legal process are as follows. All fees plus mileage are payable in advance. Papers will be returned unless correct amount of fees and mileage are sent with papers to be processed.
